Our philosophy of the construction of the Edo Castle Kan'eido Tenshu

Japan has a long history and a rich tradition and culture that has been nurtured over time. One of its great cultural heritages is the "Edo Castle Kan'eido Tenshu," which was destroyed in the Great Fire of Meireki in 1657 and has not been rebuilt since then, leaving only its pedestal in the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. The "Edo Castle Kan'eido Tenshu" is said to be the pinnacle of Japanese castle architecture and the most magnificent and beautiful castle in Japan.

Through the reconstruction of the "Edo Castle Kan'eido Tenshu" using fragrant, pure domestic wood from various parts of Japan and traditional construction methods, we aim to contribute to regional revitalization by collaborating with castle cities across Japan, including Tokyo, the capital. If we can share the beautiful appearance of the "Edo Castle Kan'eido Tenshu" with the world, it could become a new "compass" for creating an attractive and vibrant country that is a tourism and culture powerhouse, "Japan."

Through the reconstruction of the "Edo Castle Kan'eido Tenshu" we hope that the younger generation can dream and have hope for the future of this country, and feel the emotions of being born in Japan and being Japanese, creating new ideas and cultures that can be shared among each other. We believe this will lead to the rebirth of Japan.

In promoting this project, we will be mindful of the fact that the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, where only the pedestal remains, is a quiet and special place that requires careful consideration for the preservation of its ecosystem, among other things. We will humbly listen to the opinions and views of various sectors and layers of society while appealing to the public, and quietly advance the reconstruction movement.
